I have been trying to figure out how to download a video from "Shock & Awe"
site at Military.com. When I click on "download" it immediately wants to run
Microsoft Media Player. How can I reset the system to ask for the choice to
download rather than view?
Thanks,

Ron, try right click on it, instead of left click. This should give you the
option to Save

This could be DRM (digital copy protection).
If you cannot get the RIGHT click sub-menu
with option to "Save target as"
Then download and allow WMP to load/play.
Whilst playing, goto: File/Save as
Then try saving the playing clip to a folder.
