Maybe you typed your Product code incorectly or you
didn't activate Windows.

You may or may not know it, but you have a pirated copy of
Windows. That is a well-known pirated key that Microsoft is aware
of, and SP1 will not install.

Sorry, no. No E-mail support. Ask here, read answers here, where
all can benefit.

That PK might very well be the most used XP pirate key..
(even I used it once (since gone back to this morking legal 98SE) when
trying out XP..it comes with "XPpro Corporste Edition" on KAzaa......)

:-)

You will need to purchase a Retail version of Windows XP Professional. You
can then change the pirated key you are now using to the valid key that
comes with the legitimate version you buy. Simply use this procedure to
change the key
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;321636 Remember that
all pirated versions of Windows XP that use the key that you mentioned are
XP Professional versions and you can't use an XP Home or an OEM version key
so purchase a full retail version of XP Pro.

You are a complete idiot. Not only are you using a illegal copy of XP with
the most BLACKLISTED number by Microsoft, but you even post it on a
newsgroup not devoted to warez. Buy a legal copy and you will have no
problem updating your copy. Geez, is it possible someone sold you this copy
of XP?

Greetings --

If he had initially mistyped his Product Key, the OS would not
have installed in the first place.

Greetings --

Are you trying to install Service Pack 1 and getting the
following:

The Product Key Used to Install Windows Is Invalid
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q326904

Purchase and use a legitimate full copy of WinXP Pro to perform a
repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation, using the new CD and
Product Key.

How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/directory/article.asp?ID=KB;EN-US;Q315341

Remember, you should also report whomever sold you the pirated
software to your local law enforcement agency.
