capture audio only

Hoping someone could lend a hand...
Have an absolutely abysmal video on my Sony Digital8 Camcorder, but the
audio is extremely important to me. How exactly can I go about creating an
audio file only from it?

Sean,
Capture as a dv-avi file using movie maker.
Drag the video/audio file from the collections onto the music/audio track of
the timeline and then go to save movie where you will be able to save just
the audio as a WAV file.
