can't read hard drive?

You need to set the hard drive jumper to slave
on the secondary hard drive.

i just put together a new computer. put a new hard drive in for a very clean
install of windowsxp. i then installed my 120 gig hard drive as an ide
primary slave, bios sees it, the system sees it, but i can't access it. i
tried going to disk management (its there) but there is no assigned drive
letter and it won't let me assign one to it. any help in getting my files
off there would really be appreciated. thank you
