as "critical" been fixed yet. Previously I had read that
many computers were dramatically slowed after the
installation of this fix. Is it "safe" to now download
it, or would it be best to wait until it is fixed or
replaced by another update?

Thanks Perry! I did read everything and it seems that MS does acknowledge
the problems with the original fix, and that they then corrected that and
had a 2nd new/corrected fix. I went to that one, but when I clicked to
download, it gave the option of either loading from there or saving it to
disk. Do you know why this is? For most other fixes, when you choose to
use them, they download and then automatically "install." Wonder why this
new corrected fix is downloaded like most other downloads in that you have
the option of either "loading it" or "saving it" to your desk and then
running that file from your own disk?

Any thoughts?
