Restore

I recently purchased a large ide hard drive to replace my
c, boot drive. Using the Maxtor utility, I transferred
all data and system information over to the new drive.
When I replaced the new drive, generally everything
appears to be working quite well but system restore
doesn't and windows indicates that it has encountered a
problem each time I attempt to use it. Any advice on how
to fix this?
