Video clips from my camera

Hi, I'm pretty new at this, but I realize now that my Media Player 2 doesn't
allow me to use video clips that I have taken with my digital camera. Is
there anything I can do that will allow me to use these clips on my Media
Player 2? I have a digital camera that has a movie clip option, and all of
my files are already in my computer. Thanks.

Sorry, I want to use them with my Windows Movie Maker 2, not my Media Player.

Windows Movie maker is extremely fussy about file types it will work with.
The safest option is DV-AVI, or WMV file formats. (Not mpegs, nor RM, nor
quicktime)
You have a "digital camera"? I suspect this to be a standard digi-cam that
apart from
taking pix, also captures video footage? If so, it will probably be in a
propriatary
format that is neither DV-AVI nor WMV, you need software that converts.
Post back details of the file format your cam produces.
(Your cam may have come supplied with such conversion software?)

Thanks for responding. You're right about the camera, it's an Olympus
Camedia 5.1. I figured that the video clips must be in the wrong format. I
can use my pictures from the same camera in my Movie Maker 2, and I can use
some of my music, but I can't use all of my music, or any of my video clips.

Is your "digital camera" bascaily a still camera with the facility to also
take video?

If so, the most likely format is .mov which plays with Quicktime available
from Apple ( Microsoft compatible)

OK that's a starting point for me.

I am not very knowledgeable on video formats/conversion, etc. (I wish I
were, which is why I haunt this newsgroup from time to time.)
But I did manage to convert a .mov file to .avi using RAD video tools and it
plays in Windows Media Player. (I don't know about WMM2.)

I would have thought that this format should be compatible with (or
convertible to a format that is compatible with) most players but, as I
said, I am quite in the dark.

As for where to get RAD Video Tools?

It is free, but I can't remember where from. The "About" gives the website
