Initally had error "Not verifying DMI pool data" on boot up, but now when I start the PC, I can hear the pc running, theres nothing whatsoever displaying on the monitor. Have retried all connections with no success.

This is a hardware problem and has nothing to do with Windows
(software). I don't know your skill level, but if you are not used to
working with hardware and have spare parts lying around, take the
machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local version
of BigStoreUSA). Or if the machine is an OEM computer (HP, Dell, Sony
etc.) call the OEM tech support for repair/replacement.

Many Thanks,

Have done a bit of tinkering, but might play this one safe and take your advice and let someone with a bit more experience have a look at it.

Cheers
