For some reason, my WMP 10 (latest version) has stopped playing some of my
AVI files. Instead of starting them, it just gives me the following error:
----------------
AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 10.0.0.3931 ModName: quartz.dll
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2807 Offset: 00095fd5
---------------
I do have have a XVid / DivX /AC3 codes installed, and those files still
play fine. But the regular MPEG4 videos from my digital camera just
stopped playing. Out of desperation, I have tried to un-install all these
Codecs and also QuickTime. But, the problem is still there.
I also tried downloading and re-installing WMP 10 from Microsoft, but it
won't install as it finds that I already have the latest version.
Anyone with ideas?
quartz.dll is the Microsoft DirectShow Runtime library, part of
DirectX. Try reinstalling DirectX and see if that cures the problem.

I just tried re-installing DirectX and the same problem persists!
