I have a 1.6 p4 computer with 512 mb of ram and a cable
modem and have always had an easy time with running
multiples things at once (we are talking 25 webpages at
once with music going and messengers open).
However as of late if I open up more than 6 or 7 things
at a time (for example 6 different webpages) then my
computer freezes and I cant get it to un-freeze. If I
am browsing the web i get a message like " numbers x
0000000000 this memory could not be "read".
If im just messing with other programs such as mp3 and
gaming tools, my comp will still freeze up but will give
no reason why. However, in both cases some programs
continue to run (such as my mp3 player) and I can
sometimes get the task manager to open, as well as being
able to scroll through the programs with "alt-tab". But
neither of these actions will let me close down any
programs to try to get the computer to unfreeze.
I have defragged and error checked my drive, and have
gone through looking for any sort of possible conflicts.
I have even tested what having just one program open will
let me do (in this case Internet explorer) and found that
if that was the only program open I could get to about 10
or 11 webpages open before my computer froze. What the
heck is going on!!!!???? Any help would be
appreciated, thanks.
