Hello,
I have the old Hi8 Camcorder, but it got the S-Video output Jack for sending
the recorded signals.
I have the S-Video In jack in my laptop, but the Windows Movie Maker does
not recognise the Video device.
Can anybody tell me how to record from this Hi8 (analog) camcorder. Let me
also if there are any third party softwares that I can make use of.

Thanks
Ashraf

I doubt very much that the S-Video socket on your laptop is an INput,
rather, it's just an output for connecting to aTV/Display.

Your notebook probably has S-Video OUT, not S-Video IN.

I had to change the Vidoe Input to the second Composite before it would
accpet it, but then it was fine. If you are able to play the video through
your computer somehwere else, then you know you have an input.
