DVD R/RW player won't open

[Roaddog]

My DVD R/RW won't open when I press the eject button or when I manually try
and open it through My Computer in Windows XP. Anyone know whats up??

Shut down the computer (power off), wait 10 seconds then turn it on and
immediately try to open the DVD drive while the PC is going through the boot
process. Also notice if during the boot process if the DVD led flashes on
and off several times.

It still didn't open but the led light does flash everytime I press it or
when I try and eject it in the windows interface.

Hi Roaddog,

Somewhere on the front of your CD there's a small hole, smaller than a
pencil lead. Push a straightened paper clip in that hole until the CD
pushes open. Doesn't matter if it's powered up or not.

Do you have a CD wedged in there or are you thinking your CD is going to
hell?
