I want to download the new security patch that Microsoft
put out on 7/16; however, it asks if I have 32 or 64 bit
XP. How do I determine which it is? Thanks in advance
for your help!

If you had the 64bit version, you would know.
Therefore, you have the 32bit version.

Here is info on Windows XP 64 bit Edition
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/64bit/evaluation/overview.asp
As you can see it is very unlikely that your system has an Itanium processor
and you would not know.
BTW you can expect to pay around $5000 US for an Itanium system check it out

If your car is cheaper than your computer then you have 64-bit

You have the 32-bit edition. Anyone who has the 64-bit version
knows it by the two large dents in his wallet--one for 64-bit
Windows, the other, even larger dent, for the special hardware
needed to run it.
