I'm pretty good on video and hardware issues as well as Printing and
Imaging. So, back to my question, what are the file entensions of the
videos you are trying to play. Are they AVI files, WMV files, MPEG1 or
MPEG2 files... or something else?

Dear Cari

All file entensions of the videos can play only sound and the screen is
black eg.
AVI files, WMV files, MPEG files etc

But only MOV files can play in Quick time Player, it have sound and can
watch the vedeo on the screen

AVI files need the appropriate codec, usually DIVX or XVID, MPEG1 files and
WMV files should play OK without the need for an additional codecs, MPEG2
files need a DVD decoding codec.

Also take a look through http://zachd.com/pss/pss.html written by one of
the Microsoft WMP team.
