I am unable to capture video from this camera with a Dell Inspiron 1300
notebook. This computer does not have a firewire port (IEEE 1394). Do I need
to use another computer? Can this computer be adapted to accept firewire?

Should work using USB. A Firewire (IEEE1394) card and cable can be bought
for less than $20. Google "Firewire" and check suppliers for the best
price. They're all about the same quaity for importing DV.

AS Ji said, USB wiil work.

I have a Pansonic video camera GS35. It uses a USB2.0 connection to the PC
and the Pansonic software to download to .avi files
