task manager not staying openned

Running XP Professional

When openning Task Manager, via CTR+ALT+DEL or right-
clicking the taskbar, the program will open for a few
seconds or less and then shut down. Regedit does the
same thing.

Anyone know what to do?

Check your computer work viruses. Make sure you use the newest
software!
