View Full Version : sequence for installing updates from disk

I am helping a friend with his computer after a system restore. He has a
56k modem connection so I downloaded all the updates and burned them to
cd. Couple of questions:
1) Is there any particular order or sequence that the updates have to be
installed?
2) Is it necessary to re-boot after installing the updates that give
that option or can I install all of them and re-boot once after
installing all updates?

No, unless the readme file or the KB article says otherwise.

Yes. You would need to reboot after every update, unless you use a
utility called qchain.exe

Trying to download the updated version of qchain.exe. clicking on the
download link for 815062 package sends me to the microsoft homepage??
searching for 815062 results in no hits??
