I have installed the last security patch that came out
last week,819696 it says it was a sucessful install. But
when I come back to the update windows page and check for
new updates it says I still need it. The install history
on that page says it was a successful download but keeps
saying I need to download it. I have installed it and re-
booted and it still will say I need it when I check for
new ones. Does anyone have any idea why this occurs????
Any help will be appreciate it.

Sonny;
Try this:
Reboot
Install Directx 9.0b this way:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=141D5F9E-07C1-462A-BAEF-5EAB5C851CF5&displaylang=en
Choose "Save", do NOT choose "Open"
Reboot.
Disable all unnecessary applications including antivirus.
Double click the saved icon, follow prompts.
Reboot.
