While removing a virus I accidently deleted some system32
files. Now when I attempt to open any
programs/applications I get the error message;

"Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\xxxx.exe'.
Make sure you typed" ...................etc.

However when I try to locate these files manually they
are infact there, but when I attempt to open them I get
the same message.

How can I restore my system files so everything functions
normally again? Can I repair this via a download?

Hi

Try this:

Start>Run - then type in "sfc /scannow" - without the quotes. Have your =
XP CD handy.
