I just had xp home installed and i get a black screen
between the windows xp screen and the "welcome" screen.
This blackness seems to last for a few min and sometimes
seems to speed up if after like 2 min i press enter or
space on the keyboard. Thanks for any help you can
provide.
Specs:
p4 2.0ghz
512 mb ram
40gb hd
wireless logitec desktop
thanks again

Use the msconfig utility to troubleshoot this problem. Go to start/Run,
type: msconfig and press OK. Click the start Up tab. Remove the check
mark from all of the programs there except one. Click OK and reboot. If the
slowdown has been resolved, start adding the programs back, one at a time
with a reboot for each program added until the problem reappears.
