Hi,

I have been searching for the option to turn off the transparent
desktop icon text. Some desktop wallpaper cause the text not able to be
read clearly, even with the shadow turned on. I prefer some color on
the desktop icon text.

Press Winkey+Pause, Advanced, Performance setting, UNcheck "Use drop
shadows........"

Desktop icons and icon labels may not display background transparency or the
drop shadow effect in Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP:
