When I insert my USB drive into my (XP Pro) computer, it doesn't
recognize it (ie., no drive icon in Explorer).
If I insert it into a coworker's computer, it works as expected.
Any idea why?

Try it in a USB 1.1 slot, if any exist. It will likely work there.
USB 2.0 ports are probably corrupted thanks to Win XP.

If you are trying to connect your thumb drive to a computer at your place of
work then the problem may be due to a lack of permissions. You may not have
administrative access to your workstation while your coworker does.
