View Full Version : Strange Windows XP search behaviour/application problem

May 25th 06, 09:55 AM
Hello,

I got this problem, I had Corel Draw 11 installed, I somewhat
uninstalled it but I believe there was a problem and it did not
uninstalled completely, now, everytime I go into the "Search" function
of Windows Explorer the "Corel Draw installer" starts (a MSI window
stating "Please wait while windows configures Corel Graphic Suite 11",
it just says "please wait while the program gathers the required
information".

Now I have no idea what could be wrong but I would really like to get
rid of thea annoyance. I am sure there is some kind of hook in a
registry key but unfortunately I do not know where to look.

Thanks for your help

Me.

You may want to download & use the Installer Cleanup utility.
Direct download @:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/9/D/E9D80355-7AB4-45B8-80E8-983A48D5E1BD/msicuu2.exe
From within the application, check for Corel Draw in the table.
Left click to Highlight (Select) Corel Draw and then click the
"Remove" button.
Alternately, you can sometimes reinstall the application (To it's
original location) and then use Add/Remove programs applet
from Control Panel to try and use it's native uninstall routine.
