We have a Windows 2000 server and all workstations are
Windows XP. We have an Excel workbook on our network that
all user have to access on a dailiy basis. This is an
index with correspondance numbers that have to be used for
emails faxes etc. We are having a problem where sometimes
if one user has the file open another user is not warned
that the file is already open until he tries to save his
work. He then loses the work he has done in the index. Any
ideas?

This is not an XP problem. You should post the message to an Excel ng where
I am sure you will find a better response.
