Saving to CD

When I try to save to CD I get message "no CD recorder found" although my
computer has CD and DVD burner installed. I have tied loading a CD before
trying to save.

What software?
What are you trying to save to CD - video as data?
Is the burner listed as OK in Device Manager?
Has it ever worked? Or is this a new problem?
