VVideo only works on start up and safe mode

other than that, my monitor turns off as soon as it gets to the main screen
and says 'no display' I was trying to install a new drive today and it didn't
work. anyone hav any ideas? this is my bosses computer, he uses it for all
his contracts, it still woks in safe mode but he's going to freak if it
doesnt work normally.

Boot into Safe Mode and open your Device Manager.
Right-click on the Display Adapter and select Uninstall.
Reboot and Windows XP will reinstall the generic VGA
driver. Next, download the latest Windows XP drivers
from your video adapter manufacturer's web site and install.
