Disc Cleanup Doesn't!

The disc cleanup function does not work in my Windows XP
Home Edition. Defrag does.

When I start Disc Cleanup, it goes in to its calculating
mode and never goes further. Hours later it is supposedly
still calculating how much space can be freed up. Any
ideas out there?

BTW, my computer seems to be getting slower to boot up
and to operate. Connection?

Try the following web sites for troubleshooting suggestions:

Visit http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm and scroll
down to Line #48. In the right-hand window, click on
"Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it.
