View Full Version : Copying a ripped-to-HDD movie to a DVD-R.

I have ripped a movie from a DVD to the HHD
using DVDShrink and the resulting files play
perfectly well on the computer.

But when I burn the movie files to a DVD-r
using Nero or Roxio, this DVD-R does not play
properly on the DVD player connected to the
TV because all the files are jumbled and
there is no "scene selection" menu, though I
can still watch the movie. The usual DVD
lead-in has disappeared and I have to watch
the movie piecemeal.

The same thing happens with DVDDecrypter.

When I copy the ripped files via Nero/Roxio
to the destination DVDR, is the order of the
copied files significant and therefore should
I copy them in a particular sequence?

An example of these files for a particular
movie are:

VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS
VIDEO_TS
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3
VTS_01_4
VTS_01_5
VTS_02_0
VTS_02_0
VTS_02_0
VTS_02_1

In this case the main-movie files are
VTS01_1 to VTS01_5.

If all else fails can I just transfer these 5
files into Nero and burn a DVDR?

Please help.

er......false alarm.

I transferred all the files into Nero6 (into
the NeroExpress section, then into the
"DVD-VideoFiles" section) and burned the DVD
from this.
Now it works OK.
So it all had nothing to do with DVDshrink or
DVDdecrypter, but rather with the correct
burning to the copy disk.
