I have win xp home edition. I was having a problem with
windows shuting down (and still do). It gets to
screen "saving your settings", and just stays there
forever. To try and fix that problem, I reinstalled
windows from the back up cd. Now I can't start windows
normally. When I turn the computer on it goes to a black
screen with F2 and F12 in the top right corner. It sits
there for a minute or so, and then goes to screen that says
"PRIMARY HARD DISK DRIVE 1 NOT FOUND". It also syas to
press F1 to continue, or F12 to go to the set-up screen. I
go to the set-up screen and it says that my hard number is
0? It says to use the space bar to change. When I do that,
it flips between AUTO and DISABLED (I think that's the
word). But the 0 never changes.
I've looked high and low and spent countless hours at the
windows help screens and can find no help. Even tried
other places on the net. I'm not a computer whiz and have
never done config or miscong or whatever.
I am new to this site, and don't know if I what to expect.
So thanks in advance for any advice.
