HELP!!

Every time I try to run restore points that are at least
1 day+ old, the Restore Process will fail; as being
Incomplete. I always get the following error: "A
restoration to 'System Checkpoint' restore point failed.
No changes have been made to the system." No further
information is provided to point me in to the right
direction for troubleshooting. The Microsoft Knowledge
Base is a dead end.

I have 2 physical hard drives, and 5 partitions; C-D-E-F-
G. Drives D-G are only for storage, so I have System
Restore Monitoring turned off for theses drives. Drive C
is the only drive I have monitored. XP Pro SP1a is
installed on drive C, which is a 30Gig drive, and it has
20Gig of free space and 3Gig reserved just for System
Restore Points. I don't understand why it will always
fail for any restore points that are older than a day,
but not ones that I recently created. I have full Admin
rights for this account and I have even tried system
restore in Safe Mode without success. I checked in
services, and my System Restore Service is set to
Automatic.

For the record I have an ABIT IC7 motherboard; P4c 3Ghz
CPU; 1Gb of PC3500 Ram; ATI 9700 Radeon Video Card; SB
Live 5.1 Card. Some programs I have installed are Norton
Utilities 2002 & Anti-Virus 2002; MS Office 2000 Premium;
Kazaa Lite.

If anyone can offer some suggestions I'd greatly
appreciate it. Thanks a million

Courtney

Can you run %windir%\system32\restore\srdiag.exe after a FAILED restore?
Please send me the output .cab file. The System Restore diagnostics tool
can help determine why the last restore failed or succeeded.
