Having done the Windows XP internal 'Network Diagnostics'
test, the following came up as a fail:

Modems and Network Adapters

Network Adapters FAILED

[00458755] WAN Miniport (IP) (FAILED)

DNSServerSearchOrder (FAILED)
139.130.4.4 (FAILED)
Pinging 139.130.4.4 with 32 bytes of data:
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Ping statistics for 139.130.4.4:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss)
203.50.2.71 (FAILED)

Also, the PCPitstop.com test diagnosed the following:

"According to Windows, the devices and/or drivers listed
below are not enabled:

SiS 900 PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter [problem code 22]"

I would be most appreciative to anyone who could suggest
how to fix these problems.

Thanks,
Sara :)

Rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. Scroll down
to Network Adaptors click on + sign
See if there's a yellow mark next to your Sis 900 pci Card. If yes, rt
click and select update driver. Go to
Sis website and see if they have a updated WinXP Driver. If no, rt click
and select uninstall. Restart your system and let
WinXP reinstall your Sis Card.
