blaster (and more) download / update problems.

Ok here is my story...
1. tried to download the patch to protect from the blaster
virus/worm... error message (not exact) = ...make sure
cryptograhic is turned on.
2. cannot find cryptographic so tried to download
it...error message (not exact) = ...cannot download
because system already updated with package (sp1)??
3. tried to update windows from computer - goes to
internet explorer ...looks for updates.. .does not
work ... error message (not exact) ... active X security
settings are to high.. -- tried to make active X security
settings all low but still didnt work.

help!!!
