My Panasonic GS200 camcorder is recognized ok via firewire on my home
computer. On my Thinkpad T42 using a SIIG Firewire PCMCIA cardbus, it is not.
Device manager sees it as a 'Panasonic DV Camcorder' but with a yellow ! mark
using the same cable as at home. Tried other cardbus cards....same result.
The PCMCIA cardbus card is recognized and installed properly in Device
Manager. Under Driver File Details the file ver is 5.3.2600
(xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158). The IEEE 1394 Bus host controller are also ok in
Dev Mgr. HELP!

I FIXED IT!!!! After about 20 to 30 hours of scouring scores of posts
everywhere I never found a solution that worked. So I decided to run my SP2
CD again and there must have been a damaged driver because after the restart
IT WORKED.
