View Full Version : Access to DVD content

June 25th 06, 03:16 PM
Hello:

Someone burned a couple of DVDs (Verbatim DVD , 4.7 GB, 120 Min, 16X
Certified) and send them to me.
Whenever I try to access the content of these DVDs on my LapTop, I keep
getting the following ERROR MESSAGE:

************************************************** ********************
The DVD is NOT formatted. Would you like to
format the DVD, Yes or No ?
************************************************** ********************

I also tested these DVDs on a desktop computer and got the same (above)
message.

* I would definitely appreciate if someone could
help me resolve this issue ?
* Is there a way to configure my DVD player so
that it can recognize the Verbatim DVDs ?

Here is some additional information:

* My DVD an burn CDs but has trouble burning DVDs sometimes.
* The DVD on my Lap Top is working OK since I can access the content from
other sources
* My Toshiba LapTop was purchased in December 2002. The DVD player on the
desktop computer was purchased
since 2000. , could these DVD player is somewhat outdated ?
*

Thanks,
Jo

Don't know if this could be your problem. Were they burned on a computer or
a stand alone dvd player/burner?

I had that problem with some DVD's burned on a stand alone player/burner.
Many (most) of those use a format that not many computer burners or readers
can deal with.

Might want to check on that. It has been awhile since my problem and I
haven't kept up with that, but sounds like the same symptoms I had. Good
luck....
