A few days ago almost all of the icons that started up normally in the
notification area were missing. When I looked at the processes list (in
task manager) they were all running as normal. After each reboot, a couple
more were gone from the N.A. Now, I got a boot manager that delays those
programs from starting until later on. Now, I have most (if not all) of my
N.A. icons back, except for two of them: my LAN connection icon and my
Dial-Up connection icon (which shows up when I connect). I checked that
both of them were enabled in the network connections settings dialogues.
They were, and are, both enabled, yet I have no icons for them. I did make
sure that there were no strange entries in the startup section of the
registry (and start menu), and that there aren't any strange processes
listed in task manager. Can anyone tell me what is causing this strange
behavior?
