Playing DivX5 and rar mpegs

I have windows media player 10 installed i can play all wmv but I am unable
to play DivX5 and rar. Do I need to download different codecs for each, if so
where do I find them?

RAR files are compressed files; like ZIP files. You don't play them you
uncompress them.

I had the same problem and I did a google search for rar extension and
then avi extension. You will find the web pages where you can download
these items. If I recall correctly the rar software is a 40 day trial.
