i dont know if this is appropriate for this group but my
computer gave me a bib error that my c:\windows\system32
\config\system file was corrupt. i attempted to repair
it with the recovery console that was a no go. i then
formatted another harddrive i had with xp and attempted to
switch the files and that didnt work either. so what im
asking is is there anyway i could connect the old hd and
then access my old files by using a password or something
like that?

Robert

This file you have mentioned is a file from the registry of the system.
There is a solution to this problem on the Microsoft Knowledge Base, I
had this problem myself once and it solved it.
