cant update xp

I get this message when tring to download updates
New Windows Update Software Required
then I get a message click ok to update now or somthing
and here we go again.... New Windows Update Software
Required ... how do I update .. update !!!!!!

Have a look in the Windows Update.log file - in the %systemroot% folder =
- for any error numbers. If any are found, check them against the error =
numbers on the following page:
