Both ver 4.7 and 8.0 are on my machine, but only 8.0 shows up in my add -
remove programs. How do I get rid of 4.7? The previous answer doesn't say
if it removes one or both or what. Any additional help will be appreciated.

Greetings,
Just to clarify, what Vitalie has posted removes Windows Messenger 4.7 only.

Is it now safe to remove the directory "messenger"? Version 8 appears to be
in a different directory.
