udate error 0x800a138f

Can anyone help me this problem?
I go to windows udate and cant scan for new updates. I get
that error code. ( 0x800a138f ). I tried the fixes they
suggest in their online troubleshooting list but no help.I
closed my antivirus and spyware software but still no help.
This problem seemed to start soon after I downloaded their
resent virus and worm patches. I am running win xp home.
Would really appriciate any help to fix this. Rich
