Hi
Why do you need to format C: - if you have any problems, someone here =
may be able to help you. You can't format the C drive from within XP. =
One way is to boot your PC using a Win ME EBD, select 'Minimal' and then =
format the C drive from the A: prompt. If you want to reinstall XP, =
select 'With CD support', format the C drive from the A: prompt, put the =
XP CD into the CD drive run 'winnt.exe' in the i386 folder. Don't =
forget to load Smartdrive before installing, otherwise it will take =
ages.
The other way is to boot your PC from the XP CD - you will then be given =
the option to format during the setup phase.

Thanks a lot. But, what is a ME EBD, Where can I get it.
The reason I want to format is because, probably, to help
me, I would need half a Microsoft engineers here, given
the health (viruses) of my computer.
Thanks.

Hi
Try booting from the XP CD 1st - you may have to go into the BIOS if =
your PC can't boot from the CD - to change the boot order. You can get =
the files to make a Win ME boot floppy from www.bootdisk.com
You can also use a set of XP floppies to boot from if your PC can't boot =
from the CD:

Hi, Antonio.
WHY do you need to format C:?
Are you trying to install WinXP? Or do you have it installed and are having
a problem with it? What kind of problem?
