While attempting to install an app, the Installshield
configures the Windows Installer. The configuration fails
when a message stating "1607:Unable to install
Installshield scripting runtime". The Installshield
Wizard then closes.
How do I find the executable file and re-install the
Windows Installer?

THANKS!

John

Hi John

Try this:

Start>Run - then type in "services.msc" - without the quotes. Scroll =
down to 'Windows Installer' and make sure that it has been started - if =
not, right click on it and select 'Start'. Then have a look in the =
'Startup Type' column - it should be set to 'Manual'. If that isn't the =
case, right click on it, select Properties and make sure that the =
'Startup Type;' drop down menu is set to 'Manual'. You will have to =
restart your PC for the latter change to take effect.
