View Full Version : Boot failure

When I start my computer I get a disk boot failure. I have
created a boot disk which gets me past the problem but
apparently some boot files are missing or corrupted. How
and what do I need to replace to get it to boot on the
hard drive again.
It is a Winchester 80G (if that matters.)

This might help.
Boot the XP CD. Take the immediate R option, and assume that the needed
password is blank, so tab over it and enter.
Use the command
BootCfg /rebuild
to reconstruct a new boot.ini
