All systems restore points older than 90 days are
automatically purged. What do I have to do to restore my
system to April, 2002?

What is special about "April 2002"?

Hi Barbara,
Generally in my experience with XP, I don't think
you can go back after after 90 days. System Restore would
need a lot of file space
especially to restore a point back to April, 2002
Sorry

The number of system restore points that are saved is a function
of how much space you give it (Control Panel | System | System
Resore). It defaults to 12% of your drive, but you can change it
to use less. As each new restore point is added, the oldest one
is deleted to make room for it.

If the restore points aren't there, and you don't have a complete
system backup as of that date, you can't.

You can't. Restore points aren't kept indefinitely and certainly *NOT* for
15 months! 90 days is the most they're kept for, but that doesn't mean
you'll be able to go back three months either, they'll be purged sooner if
you're running out of disk space.
The only way you can restore t April 2002 (I assume that's when you
purchased the system) is to use the restore/recovery/rescue disc that came
with the system.
