Yes popups are indeed a pain. Sadly there is no native
popup killer in Internet Explorer (though I have been
bugging Microsoft for ages about this!)

Your best bet is to go for a popup killer. I can
recommend http://www.meaya.com. But there are hundreds
available on the net. Do a search in Google.
