Java

I recently formatted my computer and installed Windows XP.
Now when I go online to do things that I always used to be
able to do, it won't let me because I no longer have Java.
So when I try to install it, it tells me that I need a new
Microsoft Virtual Machine. The only problem is that
Microsoft is no longer making this product available! What
do I do about getting java back on track? Please help me!
