computer fails to go direct into windows

Over the last two months my computer has shut down and
taken me to the restart screen with various options to
restart. Trying safe mode , start normally and previous
setting that worked all have failed. The first time I
had the computer completely re-installed with loss of
data, I installed all the lastest viral softeware and
microsoft patches, no new hard ware was installed, is
there anything else I can do?

Debbie, rt click MyComputer>select properties>Advanced>Startup and
Recovery-Settings>uncheck automaticall
restart. Next time you may get a bluescreen with error messages. Post
those messages here.
