Whenever I turn on my computer, a message pops up that
says "The application has failed to start because
COMRes.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application
may fix this problem." When I click OK, it comes up with
another box. Each one has a different file listed on top
(IAMAPP.EXE, MotiveSB.exe, ccRegVfy.exe, msmsgs.exe,
ccApp.exe, aim.exe, LAN: IPClient.exe, SymProxySvc.exe,
NISSERV.EXE, Support: Support.exe). I keep clicking OK,
but the boxes keep coming back. I tried system restore,
but it wouldnt open. Then I tried to open it in safe
mode. I got the System Restore open, but when I clicked
the last step to start it, the box just stood there. Any
ideas on how to fix it?

Place XP CD in drive and after it starts click on EXIT.
Then Start-Run and type in sfc /scannow followed by OK.

**** Note space between sfc and /
