Quick Launch gone missing

Had to recreate my profile today, and in re-starting the
quick launch toolbar has disappeared. If I right click on
the taskbar > add toolbar > quick launch pops an alert:
unable to create toolbar.

I backed up the old profile, so if there is some file
missing I should be able to replace it -- if I knew which
I needed.
