Windows XP won't start.

Having problems starting windows xp. I keep
getting "windows will not start due to a missing or
corrupt file C:\windows\system32\config\system. Any help
would be greatfully appreciated.

I ran the chkdsk /r but this did not help. Thank you for
your attention.
